Artist Statement
I believe that existence is art in itself, so my work aims to capture the ideas and concepts that draw us together and tear us apart. Some themes may reoccur, like nature, identity, modernity, and interior thoughts/ emotions, but none stay for long.
As a Multimedia artist, my work deals with combining a variety of mediums, including fabric and plaster, as well as digital mediums like Photoshop. While merging physical and digital methods in different stages of production in order to make a finished piece. Combining media is also a big part of my work in order to get several different effects, and I feel that the merging of different mediums or workflows helps to prove how similar they can be at times.
My process when making work involves taking a certain message or concept and looking at it through a variety of different mediums to see which one has the most desired effect. Some concepts work better in sculpture, while others work better in a 2D or even a 4D format. I often find some ideas work best with a combination of the two or three.
As for the future, I plan to connect people through shared existence, my projects, exhibitions, and outreach.
